Yes — many students start young. Lessons take place at our welcoming home studio in Hong Kong, and Aniela and Stuart are both personally registered with the Hong Kong Police's Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme. Aniela's specialist training means learners of every ability are welcome.

We are Aniela and Stuart. Between us, we bring music, film, photography and storytelling into the same room. Sometimes that means a camera at a live performance. Sometimes it's a storybook in a classroom. Often, it's a little of everything.
More about us
Aniela makes music education happen in many ways: as a violinist, an ensemble coach, and the co-founder and Director of Music at Six Cat Studios. Trained at specialist music schools in Scotland and London, Aniela has spent over three decades teaching and performing — from early-childhood music to mentoring young musicians — and is a certified Early Childhood Music Educator with specialist training in teaching children with additional needs. Lessons welcome students of every age and ability. In 2017 Aniela founded a music programme bringing music education to underprivileged children in Cambodia. Her teaching builds solid technique, musical reading and repertoire around each student's goals — from a first ensemble to exams, auditions and performance. Aniela teaches ensemble music at schools around Hong Kong and designs and coordinates the strings programme at the Australian International School Hong Kong. Outside the studio, Aniela is concertmaster of the SAR Philharmonic Orchestra, a volunteer charity orchestra in Hong Kong — she also serves on its Orchestra Committee — and appears as guest concertmaster of the Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra. She creates the tools that help music stick — a lesson and practice logbook, the Dundercats Orchestra SNAP! card game, which doubles as flash cards about a symphony orchestra and its instruments, and Christmas arrangements for two violins — available as digital downloads and written so each violinist takes the lead in turn before returning to supporting parts — and writes the award-winning Dundercats storybooks, whose materials support music charities around the world. Aniela's online teacher's resource on the instruments of the orchestra — a growing guide to how each instrument works and where it comes from — is designed and published by Stuart alongside the books at thedundercats.com. Aniela teaches violin and music theory one-to-one, and leads music workshops, school author visits and community outreach.
Ask Aniela about music or storiesStuart is a Hong Kong-based producer, filmmaker and photographer, and an award-winning creator across writing, directing, videography, editing, design and project management. His work has appeared in cinemas and on television outlets including the BBC, CNN, Cartoon Network, National Geographic, Al Jazeera, Bloomberg, TVB and the National Film Board of Canada, alongside production roles with Turner Broadcasting, the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity and UBS. Stuart holds an MA in Writing for Script & Screen from Falmouth University. From concept through filming, editing, sound and graphics, he helps shape a project — or joins for the part a team needs. He also photographs live performance and events, makes books, and leads practical filmmaking and screenwriting workshops. Stuart designs and makes all of the studio's music education products too — Aniela's practice logbook and violin duets, the Dundercats storybooks, the Orchestra SNAP! card game and the greetings cards — listed in the studio's online shop. Beyond the studio, Stuart also creates music-related content.
